Attention
Children between the ages of 7 and 13!
The Grand Island Junior Viking Football and
Cheerleading organization is proud to announce registration dates for the 2006
Season.
On
April 29th from 11 am until
2:30 pm at the Grand Island Memorial Library, veteran football players and cheerleaders will register for the
upcoming season. Players and cheerleaders should be on hand to be measured for
his/her uniform and/or equipment.
On
June 3rd from 11 am until
2:30 pm at the Grand Island Memorial Library, all new players and cheerleaders will be registering! All new players
are required to bring a copy of his/her birth certificate. Prospective players
or cheerleaders should be on hand to be measured for his/her uniform and/or
equipment. Team/Squad coaches will be on hand to meet the prospective players.
The Grand Island Junior Vikings are an
organization whose goal is to develop well-rounded young men and women who
learn not only the fundamentals of football and/or cheerleading, but also the
importance of education and teamwork.
We will provide an atmosphere conducive to developing sound principles
and character…..while having fun along the way! Our program will stress lessons of value far beyond the playing
field, such as self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership
and good sportsmanship.
Practices
begin August 2nd and are typically held on M, W, and F
evenings. There will be pre-season
tournaments in mid to late August (schedule not yet set). Cheerleaders cheer at all games including pre-season
tournaments and playoff games. Cheerleaders who choose to become competition
cheerleaders will compete in two regional competitions.
