Six Niagara Falls teenagers, suspected in a rash of car break-ins on Grand Island and elsewhere, were arrested early Wednesday in a stolen car full of stolen merchandise, Erie County sheriff's deputies reported.

The suspects have been linked to four break-ins on Grand Island, one in Lewiston and one in Niagara Falls, in addition to the theft of the car in the Falls, deputies said.

Responding to a call of a suspicious vehicle, Deputies John Thompson and John Scirri stopped the car on Baseline Road shortly after 4 a.m. and found stolen items including car stereos, television sets and credit cards, according to the Sheriff's Department.

All six were charged with possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and unauthorized use of a vehicle. In addition, the driver, Michael P. Hayes, 17, of 20th Street, was charged with driving without a license.

Also arrested were Gary H. Horner, 19, of Walnut Avenue; Edward F. Barteck, 18, of 19th Street; Matthew A. Laughlan, 18, of LaSalle Avenue; Kendric Chaundler, 16, of Ashland Avenue; and Michael A. Lorraine, 16, of Woodlawn Avenue.
