NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE GRAND ISLAND CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTICT

 

TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF GRAND ISLAND CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, Erie County, Grand Island, New York:

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Education of Grand Island Central School District, County of Erie, New York, has scheduled a meeting of the qualified voters of said School District to be held at the Grand Island Senior High School Auditorium, Grand Island, New York in said School District, on the 12th day of December, 2006 at 7:00 a.m. on that day, with polls to be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of voting upon the following proposition:

 

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of Grand Island Central School District, Erie County, New York is hereby authorized to undertake a district-wide capital improvement program consisting of the construction of alterations, renovations and improvements to all existing District buildings and facilities, including in each case, site improvements for various school purposes and other appurtenant and related improvements, and the acquisition and installation in and around the foregoing improvements of original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and other services incidental thereto, all at a total estimated cost of $3,976,781, such cost being raised by tax upon the taxable property of said School District to be levied and collected in annual installments as provided in Section 416 of the Education Law, with such tax to be partially offset by State aid available therefore, and in anticipation of such tax, by obligations of said School District as may be necessary. 

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the aforesaid proposition will appear on the ballot labels of the voting machines used at such district meeting in the following form:

 

PROPOSITION

 

Shall the Proposition described in the notice of this meeting authorizing the Board of Education to undertake a district-wide capital improvement program consisting of the construction, equipping and furnishing of alterations, renovations and improvements to all existing District buildings and facilities, including in each case, site improvements for various school purposes and other appurtenant and related improvements and other services incidental thereto, for a total cost not to exceed $3,976,781, with such cost being raised by a tax levy upon the taxable property of the School District, to be collected in annual installments as provided in section 416 of the Education Law, with such tax to be partially offset by State aid available therefore, and in anticipation of such tax, by School District obligations, be approved?
