Homeless beating victim released to group home
4/27/2006

A 43-year-old homeless man has left the hospital after a severe beating last week by a gang that bashed his head repeatedly with a piece of concrete, pummeled him with their fists and tore off most of his clothes in an apparent robbery. Andrew Dinsmore, who had been critically injured April 19, was released from the Erie County Medical Center and now is in a supervised living facility in Buffalo.
The beating had left his head and face swollen and bruised, and his lower lip partly severed. His upper jaw was fractured, and his face was covered with cuts and gouges.
No arrests have been made, and Wednesday night, police reported no new developments in the case. They ask anyone with information to call the Major Crimes Unit at 851-4511.
