Thomas C. Mroziak, former staff member of the Department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo, died Thursday in the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Cheektowaga. He was 62.
Born in Niagara Falls, Mr. Mroziak was valedictorian of the 1965 graduating class at Bishop Duffy High School and later graduated with honors from Canisius College. His illness forced him to retire from UB in 2007 after working in the chemistry department for 22 years.
Mr. Mroziak was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Grand Island, where he participated in the folk group and the mission program.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Mary E. Lang; a son, Michael; and a daughter, Melissa Mroziak- Hartwick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 7 p. m. Monday in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island.
