HS FOOTBALL: Klock leads GI to second straight 'W'

Senior quarterback Joel Klock was 9-for-12 for 133 yards and three touchdowns as Grand Island crushed host Williamsville East 47-6 in Class A action Saturday afternoon. Klock did all of his damage in the first half.

Chris Gibney, Nick Kellner and Pat Gallagher each hauled in a TD. Gibney finished with five catches for 60 yards, while Kellner had three receptions for 71 yards. Andy LaLonde added 91 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.

Defensively, Tygue Busch and Brett Dlugosz each had nine tackles. LaLonde added five stops and an interception, while Scott Rogers had a sack and a forced fumble, Ben Tomkins notched a pick and Dlugosz recovered a fumble.

Also for GI (2-3 overall, 2-3 Class A), Nate Benoit kicked two field goals and converted 4-of-5 extra points.

Austin Zaprowski hauled in a touchdown pass from Matt Schaefer for the lone East (2-3, 1-3) score.
