GI on track in Arizona

Adam Helman and Chris Carter were first- place winners for the Grand Island track team at the Queen Creek- Tempe Prep Invitational in Queen Creek, Ariz. Helman won the pole vault clearing 14 feet, 3 inches while Carter ran a 4: 45.0 in the 1,600 meters.

The GI girls placed second in the same event thanks in part to four first- place finishes. Kelsey Mash won the 300 hurdles in 50.65, Caitlyn Driscoll took the 800 in 2: 30.0 and the 400 and sprint medley relay teams placed first. Mash and Driscoll were members of those relays along with Ellen Batter-son and Amber Duda.
