Kevin Borowicz qualifies for state golf tournament - 5/23/12 Niagara Gazette
Grand Island sophomore Kevin Borowicz finished third out of a field of 69 players at Monday's Section VI golf champinship event, shooting 119 for 27 holes at Diamond Hawk Golf Course. Borowicz is the only Niagara Frontier League player to qualify for the state championship tournament to be held Jund 1-4 at Cornell Univeristy. The sectional tournament was won by Iroquois' Ryan Kaufmann who shot 116. Joe Sanson (Lockport), Mike Davern (Kenmore East) and Dan Gilforte (Kenmore East) made the cut after 18 holes. Nick Matos (Niagara-Wheatfield) and Alex Kammerer (Niagara-Wheatfield shot 86 on the first 18 and missed the cut by two strokes.
