Wildflower Walks

 

Wednesday, July 25 &  Wednesday, August 8—10:00 – 11:00

Join the park naturalist on a walk in the woods and by the lagoon to identify wildflowers and pick a bouquet to display in the Nature Center.  Meet at the Nature Center.

 

 

Bird Watch

Wednesday, August 4—9:30 am. – 10:30 am.

Take a guided walk to view the diverse bird population at Beaver Island State Park.  We hope to see egrets and blue herons in the lagoon, yellow warblers and orioles in the woods, and spotted sandpipers and Caspian terns at the beach.  Binoculars will be provided to borrow.  Meet at the Nature Center.

 

 

Herb Talk

Sunday, August 5—  1:00 pm. – 2:30 pm.

Enjoy an afternoon at River Lea learning about the growing, harvesting and drying of herbs.  Herbal tea will be served and recipes will be shared. 

 

 

Wildflower Workshop

Saturday, August 11—  10:00 am. – 11:30 am.

Learn how to identify local wildflowers.  Admire the bouquets on display and make a pressed flower bookmark to take home.  Meet at River Lea.
