Concerned citizens, the Town and the Fire Company will be coordinating donations to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Cash and material donations will go to “Feed the Children” which is a well-known and respected charity.
Feed the Children will
arrange transportation for all donations to the Gulf Coast. Donations can be dropped off at the Nike
Base Community Center, 3278 Whitehaven Road, on Friday, September 30, 2005
between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Here are just a few of the
supplies that are needed:

Ready –to-eat foods and
snacks
·
Bottled water
·
Batteries and flashlights
·
New blankets
·
Juice and beverages
·
Personal hygiene items
·
Cleaning supplies
·
Paper products
·
Tarps and raingear
·
Buckets and plastic
containers
If
donations received exceed the immediate need due to the overwhelming generosity
of our donors, Feed The Children will use donations for future disaster
situations.
