Dear Business Owner and Community Member:

I am writing to you regarding a Medical Expense Benefit we are having for my friend, Jason Vandusen, the son of Sandy Syracuse and Mike Vandusen. Jason is a fellow Grand Islander and was injured on August 12, 2006 in a horrific automobile accident that took the life of his dear friend, Andy Dlugosz.  Jason was in ICU for 3 weeks and remained in the hospital for another 8 weeks.  Jason did not have health insurance and medical expense bills have accumulated for this family.

Jason is at home, but requires rehab at the hospital every week.  Jason’s mother, Sandy, had to leave her full-time job to give Jason the care he requires. This benefit is to alleviate the stress on the family of the pile of medical bills.

We are kindly asking members of the community and business owners to generously donate a gift basket, gift certificate, monetary gift or food for this benefit.

A bank account has also been set up at Citizens Bank where monetary donations are being accepted in the name of “Hope for Jason”, or, in the alternative, a check or money order payable to “Hope For Jason” can be mailed as follows:
