ATCH THE READING BUG @ THE GRAND ISLAND MEMORIAL LIBRARY

SUMMER PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN

The Grand Island Memorial Library is offering several programs that encourage children to read and enjoy books this summer.  The library is participating in Catch the Reading Bug @ the library, a nationwide summer reading program.

LITTLE BUG READ-TO-ME CLUB is for children 1 to 6 years of age and their families.  It begins Monday, July 7 and has no regular meeting time.  Children and an adult visit the library each week to select books to read at home.  On their first visit, they will receive a reading log to fill out and return each week to earn stickers for the books read.  Activity and coloring sheets will be available each week for children to do at home.

BOOKWORM CLUB is for independent readers who have completed grades 1 to 5 and also has no set meeting time.  Beginning Monday, July 7, children may visit the library at any time to select books and pick up their reading log.  Participants will earn stickers for each book read on a weekly basis.  Activity and coloring sheets will be available each week for children to do at home.
