• Mike Zarcone of Tonawanda bowled a four-game block of 1,012 (253 average) to take the lead in the first round of qualifying at the 47th annual George A. Obenauer Masters Tournament at AMF Lancaster Lanes Tuesday night. Zarcone’s set of 203-277-278-254 totaled 45 pins higher than the 967 (241.75 average) posted by Mike Mallwitz of Grand Island. Next come John Leszczak of Grand Island (935) and Ron Ciminelli Jr. of Cheektowaga (925).
