BOYS BASKETBALL - 1/4/03
Double-figure performances by Nick Rossi (14 points), Brett Kern (13) and John Colosi (11) powered Grand Island to a 73-30 romp over Tonawanda. The Vikings sealed it with a 26-6 run in the third quarter.

Bowling
   Not only are the Maryvale boys off to a 4-0 start in the ECIC, the Flyers also recently shattered a pair of team records at the 27th annual Festival of Lights Tournament at Beverly Lanes in Niagara Falls.
   Maryvale's total pinfall of 6,580 shattered the 10-year mark of 6,289. Its three-game mark of 3,360 bettered the seven-year old record of 3,120. Both records were held by LaSalle.
   Jon McGinn of Grand Island rolled a high game of 300. Cody Westfield, who averages 229, had a high set of 749. The high six-game series went to Erik Spahr of North Tonawanda (1,387).
   Girls champion Lockport was led by Marion Singleton (258-1,188).
