A regular meeting of the Town Board of Grand Island, New York was held at the Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Rd., Grand Island, NY at 8:00 P.M. on the 5th of September 2006.

Authorize Grand Island Police Department to Serve Eviction Notices

A motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilman Roesch to authorize the Grand Island Police Department officers to serve eviction notices on Grand Island, subject to having two officers present when notice is served and to amend the Fee Schedule to include a Service of Eviction Notice of $119 per person served.

HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT - RAYMOND DLUGOKINSKI:

Award Bid – Four Wheel Drive Loader

Highway Superintendent Raymond Dlugokinski reported that he had opened the bids on August 28, 2006 for a four-wheel drive loader.  One bid did not meet the specifications.   Two bids were received from the following:

 

Five Star Equipment                $109,934.00

Monroe Tractor                        $93,972.00

 

After careful review of the bids, Mr. Dlugokinski recommended the low bidder, Monroe Tractor be awarded the bid for a four-wheel drive loader in the amount of $93,972.00.

A motion was made by Councilman Roesch, seconded by Councilwoman Cooke to approve Mr. Dlugokinski’s request for low bidder, Monroe Tractor to be awarded the bid for a four-wheel loader in the amount of $93,972.00.

DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING & WATER RESOURCES –  JOHN WHITNEY:

Water Department Medium Duty Dump Truck

Town Engineer John Whitney reported that he opened bids on August 16, 2006 for a medium duty dump truck.  One bid was received from Emerling Chevrolet in the amount of $67,531.00.  The bid was well over the budgeted amount of $42,000.

A motion was made by Councilman Roesch, seconded by Councilwoman Cooke to accept the recommendation of the Town Engineer and reject all the bids for a medium duty dump truck at this time.
