A regular meeting of the Town Board of Grand Island, New York was held at the Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Rd., Grand Island, NY at 8:00p.m. on the 7th of July, 2008.

2008 Mileage Reimbursement Rate

The IRS has increased the legal mileage reimbursement rate to $.585 cents/mile effective July 1, 2008.

A motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilwoman Argy to adjust the Town’s mileage reimbursement rate to $.585 cents/mile effective immediately.

Authorize Supervisor to Sign Contracts – Water/Wastewater Service – Beaver Island State Park

A motion was made by Councilwoman Argy, seconded by Councilwoman Cooke to authorize the Supervisor to sign the Water Supply and Sanitary Sewer Contracts for Beaver Island State Park with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.  The rates for 2008 are as follows:

       Water        $3.74 per 1,000 gallons

       Sewer       $8.33 per 1,000 gallons

Appoint Senior Water Plant Operator

A motion was made by Councilwoman Argy, seconded by Councilwoman Cooke to appoint Brian Pettit effective July 31, 2008 as Senior Water Plant Operator – permanent appointment – non-competitive, starting pay $27.30/hour per ASME contract to fill a position vacated by Daniel Moran.
