A regular meeting of the Town Board of Grand Island, New York was held at the Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Rd., Grand Island, NY at 8:00p.m. on the 4th of February 2008.

Deputy Supervisor Richard Crawford called the meeting to order at 8:00p.m.

Rev. Edward McCutchen from Trinity United Methodist Church gave the Invocation.

A motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilwoman Argy to authorize the Highway Superintendent to bid for a 2008 Salt Spreader Body as requested.

A motion was made by Councilwoman Argy, seconded by Councilwoman Cooke to authorize the Highway Superintendent to bid for a 2008 Insulated Asphalt Dump Body as requested.

DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING & WATER RESOURCES – JOHN WHITNEY:

Award Bid – Liquid Sludge Hauling 2008

Town Engineer John Whitney reported that the bids were opened on January 30, 2008 for Liquid Sludge Hauling for 2008.  Two bids were received from the following:

 

Ball Toilet & Septic Services                    $0.024 / gallon

 

J.A. Brundage – The Drain Doctor            $0.050 / gallon

 

After careful review of the bids, Mr. Whitney recommended the low bidder, Ball Toilet & Septic Services be awarded the bid in the amount of $0.024/gallon effective March 1, 2008.

A motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilwoman Argy to accept Mr. Whitney’s request for low bidder Ball Septic be awarded the bid for Liquid Sludge Hauling for 2008 at $0.024/gallon.

Public Improvement Permit – Sewer Extension for Lot #95 – Golf Villas

A motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilwoman Argy to accept the recommendation of the Town Engineer and issue a Public Improvement Permit for Golf Villas for the addition of lot #95 to the end of the currently constructed Phase 1A.

Resignation – Commission for the Conservation of the Environment

A motion was made by Councilwoman Cooke, seconded by Councilwoman Argy to accept with regret the resignation of Chris Pennuto from the Commission for the Conservation of the Environment and to send a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Pennuto.
