WHEREAS, we consider children one of any communities most valuable treasures which makes their safety one of our top priorities; and

            WHEREAS,  at about 3:00 pm on November 4^th, 2009 a school bus transporting children from Charlotte Sidway School was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Baseline and Whitehaven Roads; and

            WHEREAS,  demonstrating extreme concern for the safety of the students on the bus and disregarding his own safety, Scott Perry immediately began helping the students off the bus and moving them to a safe place;  now therefore

            BE IT RESOLVED,  that the Town Board of the Town of Grand Island joins with the Grand Island Central School District and the parents of the children involved in expressing our sincerest gratitude to Scott Perry for his role in protecting our children during this emergency;
