Beating case brings term up to three years

LOCKPORT — A Grand Island man who beat up a man in Niagara Falls last year was sentenced Tuesday to 1 1/2 to three years in prison by Niagara County Judge Peter L. Broderick Sr.

Carl R. Adams Jr., 37, of Laurie Lane, had pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree assault.

He punched Steven Deyo in the head, opening a 20-stitch cut, and kicked him in the ribs July 29, 2006,
