Digitization projects get $72,000 in grants

Grants totaling $72,000 have been awarded to libraries in the area for digitization projects through the New York State Regional Bibliographic Data Bases and Interlibrary Resource Sharing program, the Western New York Library Resources Council reports. The grants include:

• Buffalo&Erie County Public Library, $16,874 to continue digitizing the Buffalo Criterion newspaper.

• Grand Island Library, $15,300 to digitize the Dispatch, a historic local newspaper.

• Buffalo State College and the Buffalo& Erie County Historical Society, $5,973 for the Mark Twain/Buffalo Express Newspaper Digitization Project.

• Daemen College, $5,000 for the ILLiad interlibrary loan resource sharing tool.

• University at Buffalo, $10,778 for YouTube tutorials and $6,385 for the Buffalo Architecture Digitization Project.
