Erie County sheriff’s deputies arrested 43 people on underage drinking charges early Sunday in a home on Whitehaven Road on Grand Island.
Police said Deputies Chandra Walsh and Adam Imiolo answered a report of a disabled vehicle at the end of a driveway on Whitehaven at about 1 a.m. and saw young people who appeared to be drunk exiting the vehicle.
The deputies discovered dozens more underage drinkers in the house at the other end of the driveway and arrested 43 young men and women between the ages of 17 and 20, including the occupants of the vehicle. All were issued appearance tickets. Deputies did not say whether the homeowner was charged.
