WHAT: The 3rd Annual “Paddles Up Niagara” is a 4.8 mile non-competitive paddle along the south eastern shores of Grand Island sponsored by the Niagara River Greenway Commission, Office of New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and Northtown Subaru. . 

 

Honorary Chairs Frank and Jeanette Levin of Amherst will welcome over 200 paddlers of all ages who will enjoy the natural beauty of what is considered a premier location for paddling activity in WNY.

 

At noon, prior to departure, Osias Fischer, a 9 year old member of the Tuscarora Beaver clan will give the traditional Tuscarora Thanksgiving address to send the paddlers on their way.

8:30 a.m. - Paddle Fair - Product Demos, Learn to Paddle & More
12:00 p.m. 12:15 p.m.- Native American Departure Ceremony
12:15 p.m. – Launching of Kayaks and Canoes for Niagara River Fun Paddle
2:15 p.m. – Lunch Fund Raiser & Tour “ Grand Island Historical Society”

 

WHERE: The paddle starts at Little Beaver Island Launch Site around to East River Marsh Launch Site and returns back to Little Beaver all within the Beaver Island State Park .
