Suspect sought on Island in gas station break-in

A Grand Island gas station was burglarized early Wednesday morning, and later in the day, Erie County sheriff’s deputies were still searching for a suspect.

Sheriff’s officials reported that the incident occurred at about 4:45 a. m. at the Sunoco gas station at 1837 Love Road. Store surveillance cameras showed the thief smashing the front glass door with a brick and entering the store.

He allegedly loaded a quantity of cigarettes into what appeared to be a sheet and fled the store.
