A seventh-grade social studies teacher at Grand Island’s Veronica E. Connor Middle School was arrested Wednesday for allegedly viewing “inappropriate adult photographs” during classroom hours, state police said.
Michael Zuch, 33, of Kenville Road, Buffalo, was charged with attempted endangering the welfare of a child.
Zuch, who has been employed by the school district since 1999, was arraigned in Grand Island Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
Zuch has served in several coaching capacities in Grand Island athletics. He was listed in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” in 2005.
His employment status was unclear Wednesday evening. School officials could not be reached for comment.
