Jim Wright received his B.M. in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia where he studied with Daniel Ihasz.  A native of Grand Island, NY, Jim has been in opera chorus’ such as the Hillman Opera Productions of  Bernstein’s Candide and Bizet’s Carmen,  The Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra’s production of Verdi’s Otello, and the Western New York Chamber Orchestra’s production of  P.D.Q. Bach’s Abduction of Figaro with special guest Peter Schickele.  Jim was a member of the Fredonia College Choir for 4 years under the direction of Gerald Gray, and has performed such choral works as Händel’s Messiah, Brahm’s Liebeslieder Waltzes, and Mozart’s Regina Coeli.  Other choral performances include Mozart’s Requiem, Brahm’s Requiem, and Bach’s Mass in b-minor.  Jim has recently been a guest conductor and featured soloist for the Grand Island Community Chorus.   He has also been featured as a soloist for the Freudig Singers of Buffalo and St. Joseph’s University Cathedral.  In January of 2009, Jim presented choral acoustics research at the 4th International Physiology and Acoustics of Singing conference in San Antonio, TX.
