LEWISTON — A Grand Island man was charged with felony false reporting Wednesday after he told the staff of Mount St. Mary’s Hospital that he left a “bomb and poison” in a pink giftwrapped box at their desk.

Scott Zientek, 26, entered the hospital’s emergency waiting room just after 10 a.m. and asked hospital staff for some tape for the gift-wrapped box. Asked what was inside, he said, “just a few bombs and some poison,” Lewiston police Sgt. Frank Previte said. Previte said at first the staff assumed he was joking but became concerned when he wandered off, leaving the box at the desk unattended.
