   Members of the Cinderella Isle Garden Club held a mum sale on September 18. Proceeds from the sale will be used by the Club to help maintain the garden at the Grand Island Memorial Library.







Cinderella Isle Garden Club Plant Sale- February 2010
The Cinderella Isle Garden Club will hold a Plant Sale at the Grand Island Memorial Library to benefit the library’s perennial garden on:
Friday, February 12 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Saturday, February 13 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm







Cinderella Isle Garden Club - February 2009 Calendar
February 19, 2009
Cinderella Isle Garden Club members will meet at Trinity United Methodist Church on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. to participate in a workshop entitled “Dish Gardens and Topiary Trees.” The workshop will feature speaker, Peter Martin from Menne’s Nursery. All members will have an opportunity to create their own dish garden or topiary tree. Hostesses are Mary Yager and Melissa Marcus.
March 19, 2009
Teas and Bees will be the theme for the March meeting of the Cinderella Garden Club when its members meet at SereniTea Cottage and Gift Shop on Mar. 19 at 7 p.m. After listening to a presentation entitled “The Importance of Bees” by speaker Fred Thompson, the members will enjoy tea, scones and dessert.
April 23, 2009
Spring has arrived. As Cinderella Garden Club members look forward to the upcoming gardening season, they will meet at Trinity United Methodist Church on Apr. 23 at 7 p.m. to hear Sally Cunningham from Lockwood Nursery speak about using perennials in our gardens. Hostesses are Terri Gellart and Sharon Tanchak.





Cinderella Isle Garden Club Plant Sale - February 2009
   The Cinderella Isle Garden Club will present its first Plant Sale at the Grand Island Memorial Library, 1715 Bedell Road, Grand Island on February 13 and February 14th. Available for purchase will be a variety of houseplants nurtured by members as well as a selection of handmade crafts.
   The Cinderella Isle Garden Club has planted and maintained the Grand Island Memorial Library's outdoor gardens and indoor gardens as a community beautification project for many years. During the summer of 2008, the club began a renovation of the outside gardens which was well received by the community. This year the club will continue with the addition of more perennials to the garden. The group will also plant a tree on the Library grounds in memory of the late Shirley Lee, a dearly beloved club member and long-time liason to the Library. Proceeds from the sale will support the Library and Cinderella Isle's continuing civic project to develop perennial gardens for the enjoyment of the Library patrons and the community at large.
   Hours for the sale are Friday, February 13 from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday, February 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Club members will be available for advice on potting and care of houseplants during sale hours. All are welcome!





Cinderella Isle Garden Club Christmas Celebration - December 2008
Cinderella Isle Garden Club members will hold their Christmas Celebration in the home of Michelle Hook on Thursday, December 11, 2008. If you enjoy gardening and are interested in becoming a member of the club, call Marlene Szuromi at 773-5051.





Cinderella Isle Garden Club Meeting - November 2008
Cinderella Isle Garden Club members will meet at 7 p.m. Thurs., November 20 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church to participate in a holiday arrangement workshop led by Sue Berger from Flower A Day Florist. A business meeting will follow.





Cinderella Isle Garden Club Meeting - September 2008
Cinderella Isle Garden Club members will meet at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 18, 2008 in St. Timothy Church, corner of Staley and Stony Point roads, for a program on hosta cultivation. The guest speaker will be Mike Shadrack, president of the Western New York Hosta Society. This is a guest day. If you are interested in the club and/or would like to attend, contact a member.





Cinderella Isle Meeting - August 2008
The Cinderella Isle Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the home of Adele Upton. Adele will present a workshop entitled “Flower Pounding on Fabric”.





Cinderella Isle Garden Club Meeting - January 2008
Cinderella Isle Garden Club Installs 2008 Officers Adele Upton was installed as president of the Cinderella Isle Garden Club. Other officers installed at a recent dinner at the Buffalo Launch Club included Vice President Peggy Koppman, Treasurer Chris Shiah and Secretary Mary Yager. The members enjoyed a presentation by Nancy Barnwell from the Theodore Roosevelt Mansion and a Chinese Auction.

The Cinderella Garden Club, established in 1958, meets monthly and is a member of the District Eight Federated Garden Clubs. Members enjoy social activities, learning more about gardening and helping the community. The club sponsors an annual mum sale in August.

Cinderella Isle Meeting - Progressive Mexican Dinner - July 2008
Cinderella Garden Club members met at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the home of Jane Rung for hors d’oeuvres and a garden tour before proceeding to the gardens of members, Pat Fabin and Carol Horrigan where they enjoyed salads and desserts. Following dinner, many of the members proceeded to the home of Terry Gellart for a dip in her hot tub.





Cinderella Isle Meeting - Hurd Orchards - July 2008
Members of the Cinderella Isle Garden Club carpooled to Hurd Orchards July 19, 2008 where they picked cherries and blueberries. En route, the group stopped at several garden centers.

   Members of the Cinderella Isle Garden Club met on June 10, 2006 at the Grand Island Memorial Library for their annual library beautification project. The Cinderella Isle gardeners plant and maintain the gardens at the library each year as one of their civic projects.
   Cinderella Isle Garden Club recently met for a plant exchange. They will travel to Warm Lake Vineyards in June to learn about vineyard horticulture and enjoy wine-tasting. If you enjoy gardening and are interested in becoming a member of the club, call Marlene Szuromi at 773-5051.

Cinderella Garden Club members will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2006 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church for a program titled "A Treat for Yourself," presented by Jacki Mathis, a massage therapist, and Sheila Eberhard, a makeup artist.

   Cinderella Isle Garden Club members will present a Flower and Craft Show Thursday, Septmber 19, 2002 in St. Timothy Church, corner of Staley and Stony Point Roads. Doors open at 6:30 P.M and the show begins at 7PM. Tickets are available in advance from club members. Contact Nancy, 773-2377.

Other officers installed at a recent dinner at Aurora Country Club include Vice President Linda Wrona, Treasurer Jeanne Anstett and Secretary Teller Gellert. The club, established in 1958, meets monthly and is a member of the Federated Garden Clubs.
