Harbor Lights Fellowship Pastors Maureen and Gerard Haberstro To Travel to China - 2008

With daily headlines reminding us of the tragedy in China, many Americans are searching for ways to help the countless victims of the earthquake. Grand Island residents, Pastor Maureen and Gerard Haberstro, count it a blessing that they will have the opportunity to help in a hands-on way.
A few years ago, Pastor Haberstro and his wife Maureen decided to take a disaster relief training class. The Haberstros' preparedness to care for the underprivileged in times of crisis is no coincidence. They are part of a ministry called the Times and Seasons Foundation, whose mission statement is: "To pursue the presence of God while taking His love to the nations."
Times and Seasons specializes in providing trained, multidisciplinary teams that are equipped to bring the love of God to communities in great need. Trained teams provide medical outreach, disaster relief, crisis intervention, and ministry to spiritual needs.
A team will be responding to the devastation left by the earthquake. Joining Maureen and Gerard Haberstro is their son Matthew, Dr. John and Karen Seaman of Rochester, NY, and Jolene Hoon of Singapore, Asian director.
The team will depart from the Rochester International Airport on Friday, May 23 and will fly to Singapore, where they will be joined by other medical professionals and then will continue on to China.
Once the team reaches its final destination, members will be assisting local leaders to meet the medical and spiritual needs of the community. Pastor Haberstro knows that the needs will be many and varied. This energetic and compassionate pastor is no stranger to humanitarian relief projects. He and his family have participated in over 60 short-term missions trips to locations all around the world, including Eastern Europe, Jamaica, East Africa, Germany and Asia.
Your prayers are requested on behalf of the earthquake victims and the ministry team that will be serving them. Anyone who wishes to support Pastor Haberstro and the ongoing work of Times and Seasons may send financial donations to: Times and Seasons Foundation, P.O. Box 672, Grand Island, NY, 14072. All donations will be receipted.
The global vision of this servant-hearted couple has not caused them to ignore the needs around them. The Haberstros are currently serving as senior pastors of Harbor Lights Fellowship & Grand Island House of Prayer on Grand Island.
This growing church family is proactive in both their giving and their prayers. All are welcome to join them for Sunday morning services at 10 a.m. and for Wednesday evening service at 7 p.m. at 1821 Grand Island Blvd. For more information on Harbor Lights Fellowship and Grand Island House of Prayer, call 773-7900.
