Holiday House Tour & Craft Show - 2007

   The 2007 Holiday House Tour & Craft Show, sponsored by the Historic Trinity Committee, will take place Saturday, December 8, 2007 on Grand Island, NY. The hub for all activities will be Historic Trinity, 2100 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, NY. Several local crafters will display unique handicrafts for purchase from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the chapel at Historic Trinity. There is no admission to the Craft Show.
    Five private Grand Island homes plus Riverlea will participate from noon until 4 p.m., in a tour of homes festively decorated for the holidays. Maps will be available at Historic Trinity on tour day, December 8.
   Tickets - $12 pre-sale - are available at Pam’s Gift Shop in the Grand Island Plaza (formerly Maria’s Hallmark) or by calling 773-4357 or 773-7276. On December 8, tickets will be available at Historic Trinity for $15.
   Dedicated September 1907, Historic Trinity is celebrating its 100th anniversary. All proceeds from the tour will be used for ongoing renovation and repairs to Historic Trinity. Kitchen renovation is well underway, with energy efficient windows and doors planned for Spring 2008. Historic Trinity is available for use by local groups, for weddings, concerts, displays, and more. Inquiries are welcome by e-mail,

Historic Trinity Craft Show - November 2006

   The Historic Trinity Committee will present a Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2006 in the Historic Chapel at 2100 Whitehaven Road. On the same date Trinity United Methodist Church will hold a luncheon, Chiavetta's Chicken Dinner and a Silent Theme Basket Auction in the main building. Come and enjoy a day at the Fall Festival. Historic Trinity Garden Tour - 2006


   The Historic Trinity Committee is sponsoring its Sixth Garden Tour on Saturday, July 15, 2006 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine). Tickets are $10 presale if ordered by Thursday, July 13th or $12 thereafter and at the door. The tour includes some of Grand Island's unique and lovely gardens. Proceeds from the Garden Tour will aid in the continued renovation and maintenance of the Historic Trinity Chapel, 2100 Whitehaven Road. The focus of the present project is painting and repairing the Bell Tower.
   On the day of the tour at 10 a.m., a Master Gardener will make a presentation on "Grand Island Gardening" in the Chapel at Historic Trinity. This event is open to all and questions will be welcomed. Tour booklets and refreshments will be available after the talk.

Historic Trinity Presents Western New York Chorale

   The Western New York Chorale, directed by Herbert Tinney, will perform a concert of "A Cappella" choral and solo music in Historic Trinity Chapel, 2100 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, May 7th. The program will feature 16th and 17th century madrigals of Springtime and Love, from England and Europe. A suggested donation, at the door, is $10 ($7 for seniors and students), children under 12 are free. A reception will follow the event.






Historic Trinity Holiday House Tour Set For Dec. 10th - 2005

   Historic Trinity Committee will present the Holiday House Tour on Saturday, December 10th. A craft show will be held at Historic Trinity, 2100 Whitehaven Rd. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Homes will be opened from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Presale tickets are available at $10.00 by calling the numbers below, and also at the door (Historic Trinity Chapel) for $12.00. For additional information call Shirley at 773-4357 or Betty at 773-7276. Tickets may be exchanged for a House Tour Map at Historic Trinity.
   Members of the Historic Trinity Committee will also be participating at River Lea on Nov. 27th and Dec. 4th with their "Country Store," open from 1-4 p.m. at River Lea, the home of the Grand Island Historical Society in Beaver Island State Park. River Lea will be open to the public at no charge.






Historic Trinity Garden Tour To Feature 8 Isle Gardens - 2004

   The Island Garden Tour sponsored by the Historic Trinity Committee will take place Saturday, July 17, 2004 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
   The garden tour will feature eight Island gardens. Tickets are now available at Maria's Hallmark in the Grand Island Boulevard Plaza. A presale donation is $10 ($12 after July 14, 2004). Presents "Ye Olde Country Store" At River Lea's Christmas Events

   Historic Trinity will present an old fashioned "Ye Olde Country Store" during the Grand Island Historical Society's Christmas season events. The Historical Society will open the doors of Victorian River Lea for elegant lunches with programs and two open houses. Dates to be announced. Among the items that will be for sale and available to take home day of purchase are arts, crafts, breads, cookies, jellies, jams pickles and more. The proceeds will go to the on going projects of the Historic Trinity Chapel at 2121 Whitehaven Road.
   River Lea is located in Beaver Island State Park. Admission is free.






Historic Trinity Announces Holiday House Tour - 2003

   The 8th Holiday House Tour by the Historic Trinity Committee will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003. A Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be featured in the Chapel of Historic Trinity on the same date. The tour will feature interesting and unique Island homes decorated for the holidays.

   The proceeds will be used to continue the restoration on the Historic Chapel.



Grand Island History In Fashions - 2002


   The Grand Island Historical Society and Historic Trinity will present a vintage fashion show on Saturday afternoon, October 19, 2002 as part of the Sesquicentennial celebrations. The show, which will feature entertainment with a Grand Island theme, will be held at 2 p.m. in Historic Trinity Chapel at 2100 Whitehaven Road. Refreshments will be served.
   Historical Society members Suzanne Grafinger and Maggie Gushue are combining their talents to create a pleasing collection of clothing with a Grand Island history, and modeled by local residents. Fashions spanning 150 years will be included, from the 19th century cumbersome Victorian, through the 20th century when 'prim and proper' became passe'.
   Prepaid reservations at $13 per person are requested. Reservations may be made by calling Dottie Roehrig, 773-5025 or by sending a check, payable to the Grand Island Historical Society, to her at 1890 Stony Point Rd., Grand Island, NY 14072. Admission at the door is $15.
   Profits will benefit the Grand Island Historical Society and the Historic Trinity Chapel.

Garden Tour 2002

   A Garden Tour of some of Grand Island's unique and lovely gardens will take place Saturday, July 13, 2002 and is being sponsored by Historic Trinity. Tickets for the tour, being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, are $10 for orders received by Wednesday, July 10 and $12 thereafter. For ticket information, call 773-7276 or 773-4948. Historic Trinity's December 1, 2001 Tour of Homes brought many folks into Historic Trinity for a craft show on site, and then on to visit the six showcase homes all decorated for the holidays. Shown is the Gorrell home on Stony Point Road at Huth Road. The kitchen is a very warm, comfortable room with a view of the side yard.

   A Holiday House Tour of some of Grand Island's unique homes will be held noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001 and is being sponsored by Historic Trinity. A Craft Show will be featured and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the chapel Of Historic Trinity, 2100 Whitehaven Road. Proceeds from the Holiday House Tour will aid in the continued maintenance of the Historic Chapel.
   For tickets ($10 by mail, $12 after November 24), call 773-2200 or 773-7276. "Join us in what promises to be a most enjoyable afternoon and help us preserve this Gothic Revival Country church, an important part of Grand Island's past," a spokesman for Historic Trinity said this week.



Historic Trinity Membership

   Friends Of Historic Trinity is now accepting $5 dues for membership which includes a newsletter updating renovation progress of the nearly 100-year-old church on Whitehaven Road. Those interested in joining Friends of Historic Trinity are asked to mail a check made payable to Historic Trinity ($5 per person donation) to Historic Trinity, P. O. Box 1081, Grand Island, NY 14072.
   Historic Trinity will sponsor a David Temple concert 7 p.m. this Saturday, April 28 in the Historic Trinity Chapel. (See below for concert details)



Historic Trinity Sponsors Guitar Concert

   Members of the Historic Trinity Committee will host Guitarist David Temple of the Catskills at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001. The guitartist will play solo works from North and Latin America and Spain along with classical works of J.S. Bach and others at Trinity Historic Chapel, 2100 Whitehaven Road. A free-will offering will be designated to benefit the electrical upgrade of Historic Trinity. Refreshments will be served.
