Moose Lodge Float Has Authentic Sign

Fred Claus Photo       Jack Bates Photo

Men, women and the teens of the Moose Lodge #180, especially Carol Jones, put a lot of time, energy and creativity into their Sesquicentennial parade float which brought back memories to those of us who lived here in 1968 or before. That is when the old town hall, formerly School #9, was torn down after the present hall was completed. The Moose float was fronted with a large facade of that old town hall, complete with the original sign hanging over the door. Rumor has it that the sign was picked up from the rubble when the town hall was demolished. It has been kept safe over the past 34 years by an Island family and is now the property, at least for the time being, of Moose Lodge #180. Click the photo for a larger view.

Moose Lodge Provides Toys for St. Timothy Lutheran Child Care Center

Riding toys, pots, pans, play food, a toy vacuum, baby gates and educational software packages were just some of the Christmas donations, much appreciated by the children, staff and parents of St. Timothy Lutheran Child Care Center.
