Reality Cafe Hosts Three Bands - 2009

The Reality Cafe, a Town of Grand Island sponsored youth center, hosted three bands on Friday, August 7, 2009. The bands were, "Picture to Burn," "Birth of a Castastrophe" and "Alexis Speed." Many of the bands' members were past members of Reality Cafe. One band member, Caleb Smith, reminded the Recreation Leader at the Cafe that he had made a comment a few years ago that "Someday, my band will play for Reality Cafe." His dream came true that Friday. Summer Cafe hours are Tuesday evenings 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for upcoming 6th and 7th graders, and Thursday and Friday evenings 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for 8th, 9th, 10, 11th, and 12th graders. The fall schedule, which will be posted soon, includes a visit from the Buffalo skateboard store, "Sunday." They will be performing their skateboard skills, along with giveaways to those who come out to see them. Date has not been determined yet. Six bands will be playing in the Fall (dates to be determined).
