Sandy Beach Park Club Holds Annual Children's Parade and Picnic - 2005

   The Sandy Beach Park Club's annual children's parade and picnic were held Saturday, July 28, 2005 with the parade beginning at Wallace Drive and Middle Road at 4 p.m.
   Shown are the winners of the costume contest. In the left photo are Dan Isenberger, Jeremy Forbes, Mary Kate Petz (front) and Tom Petz, Nicki Zimmerman, Kelsey Mark and Kristy Kalman (in front). Annual Sandy Beach Park Club Parade/Picnic - 2005

   The annual Sandy Beach Park Club kids parade and picnic will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005 with children meeting at Wallace Drive and Middle Road for the parade. The picnic will follow at the shelter. Those attending (members only), are asked to bring a dish to share.

   The annual Kids parade and picnic, hosted by the Sandy Beach Park Club and organized by Patty Mash, took place Saturday, July 24, 2004. The Park Club has held a Kid's Costume Parade and party each July since 1943. Thanks to Diane Hassan for submitting the photos.

   The Sandy Beach Park Club's annual Kids Costume Parade and picnic began at noon Saturday, July 19, 2003. The parade started at Wallace and Middle roads, just as it has for nearly 60 years, and ended at the beach where a day full of contests, games, prizes and food were provided by the Club.
   The Sandy Beach Park Club is most appreciative of the following businesses and club members who donated their time and contributed to the annual kids party and costume parade.

    Sandy Beach Park Club News - March 2003

       Members of the Sandy Beach Park Club will meet 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003 at the Park Club, weather permitting (Beach House alternative location). The Club's annual membership meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. May 5, 2003. All Members are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. The election of board members as well as many other topics will be discussed. Beach clean up is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 7. All members are welcomed and encouraged to bring work gloves, gardening supplies, tools, paint brushes "and anything you think will help make our Park & Beach like your own backyard." Volunteers are needed to trim all the trees, groom the volleyball court and horse shoe pits and repair the shed and beach shelter. "Members, please join us for another wonderful season," a spokesman for the Club said this week.
       The Annual Kids Costume Parade Party (12 & under) is scheduled for noon on Saturday, July 19, 2003. Meeting place for the start of the parade will be at Wallace & Middle roads. The march will then proceed to the beach for a day full of contests, games, prizes and food. The Party continues all day long for the whole family.
       A membership mailing is being sent out with all details. Club members are reminded that boat slips fill up fast and are therefore urged to send back memberships. Up-to-date information is also posted on the bulletin boards down at the park and and on this web page. Contact any board member with questions.

    Sandy Beach Park Club Meeting - March 10, 2003
       Members of the Sandy Beach Park Club will hold their first meeting of the 2003 season at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003 at the Beach House Restaurant. All members are welcome.

    Sandy Beach Park Club Spring/Summer News 2002

       Members of the Sandy Beach Park Club are looking forward to a new break wall being built on their "Park Club" property on the East River. The wall replacement work is scheduled to start soon and will be done by Sam Long. The following dates have been announced this week by Park Club Board Member Barbara Brown:

  • Board Meeting: April 8, 2002, 7:30 p.m. at the park, weather permitting, or at the Beach House Restaurant
  • General Meeting: May 6, 2002, 7:30 p.m. at the park. All members welcome. New Board members to be voted on.
  • Park clean-up: June 1, 2002, 9 a.m. Bring supplies.
  • Annual Kids Costume Parade: July 20, 2002. Open to members 12 and under.

    Sandy Beach Park Club Board Meeting

       The Sandy Beach Park Club has held a Kid's Costume Parade and party each July since 1943. During the 57 years each new generation of neighborhood children participates in costume judging, games and contests. This year's chairperson, Barbara Brown, assured everyone a continued good time tradition. A family picnic followed the kid's festivities on July 21, 2001.
       The Sandy Beach Park Club committee would like to thank the following for their generous donations to the Kid's Costume Parade Party: The Beach House, Kelly's Country Store, Martin's Fantasy Island, Tops, Rite Aid, The Chocolate House, Casa D'Italia, Jaco's, John's Pizza & Subs, Picasso's, Island Lanes, Fun Center, McDonald's, Adrian's, Pizza Hut, Rob and Kim Eisenberger & and all of the Park Club members who helped with the party. The Sandy Beach Park Club is also appreciative of donations from the following "mainland" businesses: Maid of the Mist, The Buffalo Bisons, The Buffalo Bills, Aquarium of Niagara Falls, Target - Niagara Falls, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Toys-R-Us - Amherst.

       The Sandy Beach Park Club has announced its next board meeting will take place 7:30 p.m. June 11 at the beach shelter. All members are welcome. Sandy Beach Park Club t-shirts are for sale at $10 each in red, navy and white.
