Anchor Marine Honored - Dec. 2009
Anchor Marine, 1501 Ferry Road, Grand Island, was recently honored at the annual World Wide EZ-Dock Distributors meeting. President of the Company Christine Weaver, and General Manager John Howlett, were at the meeting in Charlotte, NC to receive the award for being “Top New Distributor” for EZ Dock floating docks systems WORLD WIDE. EZ Dock is the premier plastic floating dock on the market today and is sold in the United States and 28 countries around the world. The product has been on the market since 1989 and locally has been used in residential, commercial installations and most recently a number of local parks and marinas.
Anchor Marine, under its subsidiary company “EZ-Dock of WNY,” took on a dealer franchise for the EZ Dock Company of Monett, Missouri in 2005. In 2008 they were awarded the distributorship for the twelve counties of WNY, and now have two dealers as part of their operation, one in Chautauqua County and another in Monroe County.
The local staff of four full time technicians does all of the surveying, engineering, design and installation work. They have a 4,000 sq. ft. warehouse, and a fleet of work boats, trucks, trailers and motorized equipment for dock installation work. They led the industry with the first on-line shopping cart for EZ-Dock parts and accessories (www.EZDockofWNY.com) to simplify access for their customers.
The company is looking forward to a bright 2010 with a number of large dock projects scheduled for several WNY cities, summer camps and a large installation for a private development in the southern tier. They also won three important NYS bids to build a large public Kayak Launch at Beaver Island State Park, provide the docks to rebuild the NYS DEC’s Sunset Bay Marina destroyed by flood last summer, and provide docks for a new boat launch at Cassadaga Lake.
