   "I noticed these babies when I was driving to Beaver Island yesterday morning (6/23/08) with my dogs,"
Barbara writes. "They were climbing down a tree trunk by the park entrance. These two posed for a quick photo
and then scrambled back into the treetop along with the rest of the family, about six altogether. Very cute!" Barbara said.

The sky was most impressive as a storm blew in quite quickly.
This is looking north over the East River from Grand Island.
A large section of the Sandy Beach neighborhood was without
power for about six hours due to a storm related transformer fire.

"We had to get a ladder and sneak up to the top to get a glimpse of what was inside and we didn't hang around long because
we could see we were making momma bird very nervous, but I got to see long enough
to snap these photos of these brand new babies and wanted to share with the rest of Grand Island!" Edie wrote. Edie and Marc are parents of Marc and Drew.

   Mark Surdi snapped this photo of a screech owl at his house on Love Road during the evening of March 7. At the time of the photo it was snowing heavily, Mark said. "The owl perched on our porch rail and appeared to be looking through the window at our parakeets inside. The owl hung out for about an hour and even let us get close to take photos without flying away. We nicknamed him "Mr. Screech," Mark said.
