Knights of Columbus Community Food Drive - May 2020

    Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council #4752 is hosting a Community Food Drive to Benefit: The Grand Island Neighbors Foundation and FeedMore WNY on Saturday, May 30th, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Knights of Columbus Hall, 1842 Whitehaven Rd, Grand Island. Accepting donations of all non-perishable foods. The most-needed items at this time include: canned fruits, canned vegetables, shelf-stable proteins (peanut butter, canned fish or chicken). Note: Donations will be collected in a drive up/drop off/no contact manner. Social distancing will be respected and all volunteer workers will be wearing masks.




Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship - January 2020

   St. Stephen’s gym is reserved for the local/council championship, the first level of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship, on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Registration, as well as free throw practice, begins at 12:30 p.m. and closes at 1:30 p.m. Competition begins promptly at 1:30 p.m. Competition at this level, and in subsequent levels, is limited to boys and girls 9 to 14 years of age as of January 1, 2020. The entrant, as well as parent or guardian, must sign the official entry form.
    Advertising posters and some entry forms have been distributed to St. Stephen School and through the G. I. School District Athletics Office for distribution to Connor Middle, Huth Road Elementary and Kaegebein Elementary Schools. For further information and any questions, please call Mr. Peter Kuszczak, Local/Council Free Throw Chairman, at 773-6459.

    The Knights of Columbus Council #4752 is hosting a meat raffle on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at their facility, 1841 Whitehaven Road. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the first round starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 and include, pizza, beer, wine and pop. See flyer.




Knights of Columbus Chicken Bar-B-Cue - August 2018

   Grand Island Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea #4752, 1841 Whitehaven Road is hosting a Chicken BBQ and Basket Raffle on Saturday, August 18th from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $12.00 and tickets at the door are $13.00. All proceeds will benefit the Lions Club Special Kids Picnic. See flyer.




Nicaragua Mission Collection - May 2018

    The Nicaragua Mission Collection will be held Thursday, May 24th at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1841 Whitehaven Road. Summer clothing, shoes, and household items (dishes, pots & pans, glasses, bedding etc.) of any kind may be brought to the hall between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Non-perishable food items are also needed, as well as eyeglasses. Donations of cash are most welcome to purchase cows or pigs for families or to help defray shipping costs. Ann Marie Zon will bring her truck for loading at 6 p.m., and give a presentation about the Mission after the truck is loaded. Refreshments will be served. Thank you for your support again this year.




Relay For Life Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser - April 2018

   Relay for Life Event planned at Mary Star of the Sea Council, 1841 Whitehaven Road, Saturday, May 5, 2018.
    Maureen Tyson, this year's Grand Island Relay for Life feature survivor, has announced a fundraising event at the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council 4752. The theme of this event will be Cinco de Mayo and will be held on May 5th at the Knights of Columbus hall at 1841 Whitehaven Road from 6:30pm until 10pm. Mark Tyson, co-chairperson for this fundraiser exclaimed, "...we are so honored and excited that Relay For Life has chosen Mo to be the featured survivor! Her faith and positive attitude never waivered during her battle. She NEVER gave up hope. Dannie and I are so lucky to share her love everyday!" Mark went on to explain that the event will feature: a basket raffle, a 50/50 raffle, a wagon of spirits raffle, a cash bar and euchre tournament. There will also be an al la carte taco bar for a minimal donation.
    "The only way to fight this horrible disease is through events like this," noted co-chairperson Amanda Karnath. She continued by declaring, "We all know someone affected by cancer ...please consider helping Mo on her campaign to make cancer go away for good! Please consider joining us and donating a Basket and/or a bottle of spirits." Donations can be made by contacting dharhen@roadrunner.com or moetyson62@yahoo.com.

9th Annual United Way Community Baby Shower - April 2018

    Again this year the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council 4752 will collect baby items in support of the 9th Annual United Community Way Baby Shower. This community-wide effort to collect essential baby items will help at-risk mothers to give their newborns a stronger start, giving the supplies and support needed for a healthy beginning. "This effort is wholly consistent with the Knights of Columbus commitment to the "Right for Life" for every living being," stated Grand Knight Sean Carroll. David Forster, Charitable Committee Chairperson invites the community to drop off their donations at the Mary Star of the Sea Hall located at 1841 Whitehaven Drive, Grand Island, NY on April 27th from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. "I truly hope the Grand Island community will join us in support for this worthy cause. Any donation that would be useful for a newborn would be greatly appreciated. Specifically: diapers, baby wipes, sleepsacks, digital thermometers. Gift cards and cash donations are always gratefully accepted as well," noted David Forster.

Knights of Columbus Tuesday Night Bingo - January 2016

   Tuesday night bingo continues! Door and snack bar are open at 6 p.m. - the Early Bird ("Bullseye") game starts at 6:45 and the regular session starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Bonus Ball prize as of January 5, 2016 is $1864.00 and the Queen of Hearts, $2561.00.

We are now featuring "G-Ball" as our Progressive game. The jackpot increases every week until someone wins by getting a full card in the exact number of balls corresponding to the number on the first ball that is drawn "under the G."




Knights of Columbus Share Your Happiness Donation - December 2015

    The local Council 4752 Knights of Columbus presented a check for $500 to the Neighbors Foundation at the annual food distribution for the Share Your Happiness campaign, located at the Knights Hall on Whitehaven Road. The money was raised at fundraisers at the Knights, the latest being a meat raffle. The donated money will help pay for the turkey, ham and gifts purchased by the Foundation for needy families. This year over 100 individuals from 61 families will be assisted.




Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship - January 2015

   The local Council 4752 Knights of Columbus will host a Free Throw Championship at the St. Stephen School gym on Saturday, January 17th. Registration and free throw practice starts at 12:30 p.m. and competition begins promptly at 1:30 p.m. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 9-14 years. Birth cerificate/proof of age is required.

A Night of Wine & Cheese - January 2014

   The Grand Island Knights of Columbus and Aceti's Wine and Spirits are hosting a "Night of Wine and Cheese" at the Knights hall, 1841 Whitehaven on Saturday, February 1st from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 per person / $35.00 per couple and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the St. Stephen's Scholarship fund.
