Comments: 'Hi, I just wanted to say that your photographs are amazing. I walk my dog at all the parks and am always reminded of the beauty of the Island. One of the reasons I found this sight is because I keep hearing coyotes in the middle of the night. It is actually quite scary (being a viewer of werewolf movies). It sounds like a pack of them and I've heard them several times. I've tried to see them, but when I look out it stops and I haven't been able to see anything. (I am across the street from fields). Anyways, your pictures are absolutely beautiful..'

Comments: 'Grand Island was agreat place to live. Due to it's size, it didn't take very long to get from one place to another. I used to ride my bike to the Monica St. to visit my good friend Roland following my familes move to the Sandy Beach area. As usaul, time caused us to drift, especially when my father was transferred to the Montreal Canada, following my Sophmore year at GI High. In '67, I returned to live with my grandparents, but went to Eden Central, where I graduated in '68. However, it provided me with the opportunity to visit Grand Island on weekends. Once in awhile, I would ride the GI High bus with friends to attend a sporting event. Following Graduation, I moved to Ca. with my parents once again to continue my schooling. In all the years thereafter, I never forgot about Grand Isalnd. Now, I've been given the opportunity to attend GI High's 40th to see those whom I grew up with once again. Thank You Grand Island for this oportunity. Just to let you know how much I talked about GI, under my yearbook picture it says, "How are things on Grand Island"?.'

Comments: 'I grew up on Warner Dr. I remember hanging around at the beach all the time- smoking and trying to hang out with my brother Jeff's cute friends who played guitars and sang. We lived next door to Wilkinson's. Pat Wilkinson (now Moravec) and I are STILL great friends. I remember the Clown House, the Sandy Beach Parades, going to another friend's house- Karen Sciandra and helping her take care of her 9 younger siblings (all K's)! I remember us girls walking to the Plaza to go to Neisner's to buy 45's. We used to have great slumber parties and sneak out all night to roam the streets and laugh like fools! There are way too many memories to write here. My friends, Karen Sciandra Raepple, Pat Wilkinson Moravec, Geri Kilmer, Kim Pickles Stolp, Diane Loder Kerner and Kathy Geisenhoff Randall STILL get together at least once a year for a slumber party at Karen's home. We have been doing this since we all turned 40 in 1991. I cherish them all and all the wonderful childhood memories I have.

There are two ice rinks at Dwyer Arena, so I am planning a hockey game on one side and a free skate on the other. Kids are welcome. The snack bar will be open and rental skate will be available at no charge..'

I am divorced from John. Have 2 great kids. Robbie is 26 and still living with me and working and going to school. Jessie is 21 and lives on her own and works full time.
I teach PreK in the GA public school. The intercity in the South is quite interesting.
St. Simons Island is a beautiful place to live and I have many close friends.

Comments: 'I frequently visit Grand Island to visit my sister Chris we usually go to the beach house or other local restaurant. I remember the wonderful "snow", good neighbors that talked across the fence. Everything on the Island was close and relatively easy to get to compared to larger areas. As when I lived on the Island I enjoy walks at Buckhorn,golfing at Beaver Island State Park and so much more. I wish Grand Island was futher south it would be heaven on earth.
My mother (Vera) died in 1991, brother (Jack)in 1992 and my father(Levi)in 2001. The Firemen and all the wonderful people on Grand Island helped us thru the difficult times.
My Son Sargent Stephen Ferguson is now 25 has just returned from his second tour of duty in Iraq. He has receeived two purple hearts... and is thankfully in one piece.
After graduating from YSU as an Metallurgical Engineer 1973, Theresa my wife and I have moved several times from Pennsylvannia, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvannia and now in Virginia..'

Comments: 'So many memories i dont know where to begin. Coming back to visit after being away for years seems like a dream and sooooo much has changed. The ole neighborhood of Alt blvd especially. Did quite a lot up and down that road with my siblings, friends. Miss the gang....the times we had. Time takes it toll on everything.........but cant erase the best times of my life there on Grand Island. No question about it! I would give my right hand............ok.......maybe my lil finger to go back in time to around 1975. Cruising in my brothers 62 listing to the tunes (not disco) eight of us packed in that car. Maybe heading to Sheridan Drivein.........or Teds.......Riverside.......Mighty Taco...... Or sitting by a fire on a nice summer night down at the pier with everyone. We partied till dawn most saturday nights. Surprised im still alive or not in jail, lol. Life was simple then............no cable.........no ipods...........no cell phones........no PS2. The list goes on. Fast paced everything is today. What seemed like yesterday.....1978. And now its 2007! Someone tell me who kicked it into overdrive? When i been trying to stay at cruising speed. Those lazy summer days spent at Sandy Beach and on the river are especially memorable.
