Donated Book Sale - March 2019

   Friday, March 8th, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Saturday, March 9th, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
    Friday is for Friends members only. Friends memberships are available at the door. On Saturday, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM you can fill a bag with books for only $5. From 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, it then drops to $2 a bag. Proceeds to benefit the Grand Island Memorial Library.

Make Your Own Apple Cider Vinegar with Tina Ames - March 2019

   Make Your Own Apple Cider Vinegar with Tina Ames. Apple Cider Vinegar is something you can use every day in your home. The health benefits are amazing! In this hands-on workshop, Tina will guide you on how to make apple cider vinegar at home from your apple scraps. Each participant will create and take home a small bottle to start.    Ages 2-5 *with caregiver.* Be prepared to get a little messy! Drop in with your curious little ones and let them explore, discover, create, and play! Sensory play promotes language development, fine/gross motor skills, social interaction, and can help with pre-writing skills too. Plus it's a lot of FUN for both child and caregiver! Free Tax Help for Your 2018 Returns - February 2019

    At the Grand Island Memorial Library, by appointment only. Please call 716-286-8171 to set up an appointment and for more information. Niagara University Accounting Students, the Accounting Society, and Beta Alpha Psi students will electronically file your federal and state tax returns. Short form only. No stock sales, itemized deductions, or business expenses. Just bring your tax documents and we will do the rest. NOTE: Bring SS cards for all individuals that will be on the return, and photo ID for all Adults on return.

Shakespeare on the Human Experience - February 2019

   Thursday, February 28th, 5:00 PM - 6:15 PM
    Presented by Brendan Didio of Shakespeare in Delaware Park. Through his rich language, Shakespeare often gives us insight into what it means to be human. Woven into his text are profound statements on the human experience that have endured for over 400 years. We will be exploring how we can apply Shakespeare's perceptiveness to our day-to-day lives, and hopefully come away with a newfound understanding of our own. Registration recommended. JumpBunch Fun and Fitness Class - February 2019

   Friday, February 22nd, 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, Ages 6-12.
   Keep fit this February break with this fun fitness-themed class. Team up and play some indoor sports and games with your peers. All equipment provided. Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers! Bring your own water bottle. JumpBunch coaches are trained and screened to provide a safe environment for kids. Limited to 20 participants. Registration required. February Break Yoga Class - February 2019

   Thursday, February 21st, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, for ages 6-12.
    Send your child on a peaceful journey in this fun-filled class taught by Donna Baia from Kidding Around Yoga! Through music, storytelling, games and more, children will practice yoga poses plus breathing and relaxation techniques that are useful in their daily lives.    My Friends Make Me Happy! A Storytime featuring the works of Jan Thomas.
   Thursday, February 21st, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM. Recommended for ages 3-6.
   Join us as we enter the silly world of author Jan Thomas and her friends! This program for preschool-aged children will feature stories, games, and a craft. (Hula) Hoop Making Party - February 2019

    Wednesday, February 20th, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM,
    This program will begin by explaining the secret to finding the perfect size for a beginner hoop. Next, Benjamin will demonstrate how to build and connect hoops, followed by members choosing their colors, tapes, and materials to decorate their hoop. All supplies provided.
    Benjamin will break down the fundamentals of waist hooping and a couple of off-body techniques for program participants. Everyone will leave with all of the tools they need to enjoy their new hoop for fitness, expression, and play! Limited to 20 participants. Registration required. Kids' Snowshoe Hike with Reinstein Woods - February 2018

    Tuesday, February 19th, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, Ages 6-12.
    Come explore the natural beauty around the Grand Island Memorial Library with staff from Reinstein Woods. Find animal tracks in the snow and make some tracks of your own as we learn how fun snowshoeing can be! Snowshoes will be provided. Please dress for the weather!    On 'Take Your Child to the Library Day'.Here’s your chance to meet three fascinating owls featured in the Harry Potter series firsthand and hear the lore and legend of these mysterious creatures.    An Introduction to tracing your family's roots with Ancestry Library Edition (ALE), a database available at any Buffalo & Erie County Public Library location. Similar to the popular Ancestry.com website, this database contains collections of vital and original records, including those relating to birth, marriage, death, military service, and immigration.
