Donations can be dropped off during operating hours Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m., 3278 Whitehaven Road.

    Recovery International is a support group for anyone 18 years of age and older who need help with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, bipolar disorder, anger management, PTSD, and fears of all kinds. Recovery meets every Tuesday from 7 PM- 9 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church.

   Alzheimer's & Dementia Caregivers Support Meeting is at Bible Fellowship Center, 1135 Baseline Road on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m. - noon. For information call Jim Pinckney (321-439-6028) or Mary Pinckney (352-217-2311).

    Grand Island High School boys basketball has a 5-0 start. They will be playing at home on December 19 & 21, 6:30 p.m. Grand Island boys varsity hockey team has had a great start, outscoring their opposition 37-2. They will face Kenmore West at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th at Hyde Park Ice Pavilion.

Needed are men's & women's: sweat pants & shirts, thermal tops & bottoms, all medium to 4 XL. Winter coats in all sizes. No socks needed. Due to hospital guidelines, they can only accept NEW items. Drop off to the post at 2121 Grand Island Blvd. until December 19th.

Enjoy the decorations and sounds of the season in ther historic farmhouse. Shop in the boutique for gifts, decorations and homemade cookies. Enjoy some refreshments while listening to live holiday music by Grand Islander & retired music teacher Betsy Thomas.

   The Light Up the Boulevard Festival & Parade takes place on Saturday, December 2nd from 12 noon - 4:00 p.m. Festivities are a kick-off celebration held in the Town of Grand Island to usher in the holiday season. The festival before the parade includes local vendors (food and retail), kids crafts and fun for all, including the chance to take a picture with Santa in the town gazebo. The focal point of the evening are an Electric Light Parade and Town Tree Lighting, all with Santa present. They're designed to encourage central business district establishments to put up festive lighting on their properties & spark a sense of community pride & joy throughout the holidays. The Chamber of Commerce and the Town hope you can join us!

    On Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2 PM - NAN HOFFMAN, JOE TUMINO, KATHY DELOUGHRY & MARY BIEGER will present "CHRISTMAS IN THE WOODS!" at Island Presbyterian Church, 1822 Huth Road, Grand Island, NY 14072. The traditional holiday concert and carol sing includes carols, hymns, Hanukkah songs, and songs for peace and thanksgiving. Co-presented by Riverside-Salem UCC and Island Presbyterian Churches and located again at Island Presbyterian to provide better seating with plenty of parking and easy access. Followed again this year by a pot-luck dinner. Bring a dish to share if you wish. Free will offering to benefit the sponsoring churches. For info: email nan@nanhoffman.com or call 716-773-5315.

   Rotary Club of Grand Island will host its annual Undie Sunday 2023 collection between Jan 22 – 29. There is a particular need of warm socks, T-shirts, men’s underwear, sizes Large, Extra Large and XX Large and all women’s undergarments.
