Festival of Trees - December 2023

For the past several years members of the Golden Age Center and recreation leader Carrie Mesmer have participated in the annual Festival of Trees that benefits the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. They spend several months planning and then making the ornaments for the theme chosen. This year’s theme was "A Traditional Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa". An auction took place and at the auction, the tree and all the handmade ornaments and other items brought a whopping $700 in proceeds to benefit the programs at Children’s. The first year of participation tree sold for $200, the second $250. Understandably the seniors and Carrie are very excited and proud of their submission and even more so that they can give back to the greater community and put their talents to great use!
